The 10 most dumb advice people are still following....
1- Be yourself and be positive
I mean just being yourself sounds good enough but it is not as good as it sounds. Suppose you have an habit to lose your temper very often and also you have an interview next week then there's nothing good by keeping this attitude with you. This mindset results in lack of self growth and many times a person overlook the fact they know themselves very well.
Well are you happy with just being yourself or you need to develop yourself in order to boost your competency?
Know yourself and own yourself first. Then be yourself.
A person needs to be authentic and enthusiastic to combat the ever changing environment where every second is creating a new milestone on the earth.
Now let's discuss about what's wrong with being just positive??
If a person is overly optimistic, they usually don’t consider the risks associated with their actions or learn through painful trial and error.
Positive mindset is very important but over positive mindset actually results in killing of person's ability to analyze any situation.
Any successful person you can find have a common trait of being balanced by nature.
The philosophy of positive thinking means being untruthful.
There's a different view of Osho regarding this advice, he said " Positive thinking means being dishonest, it means seeing a certain thing and yet denying what you have seen."

So it's better to stay balanced : there's a time and place for all the emotions.
2-Hard work is must to achieve anything
This is one of the most useless advice I personally get from my elders. Well seriously.. how could be this possible??
If the hardworkers are paid most as it is told then I think, the rikshaw or taxi drivers could be the richest person in the globe surpassing Jeff Bezos. But the reality is we are not living in the world owned by the mine workers and labours.
I know that hard work is important but it ain't enough when it comes to achieve the milestones of success.
In order to become successful in your life, you should master some skills, you need to have certain amount of education regarding the field, social skills like communication, rapport building are very crucial to find an edge with one step advantage than other fellas.
You should be ready to adapt according to ever changing situation where every second the earth is getting something new.
Overall, blindly following the mantra of hard work will hardly get you anything, you need to be smart, you must know how to use your tactics, then you can yield a way better result than expected.
3-Everything happens for a reason
"The responsibility for success is on you; so is the responsibility for creating meaning out of life's biggest disappointments."
There's no credibility in this point. Things are not just happening with reason. Events are occurring in our life because we want them to happen. Suppose a student gets a good marks in his board exams, because he was ready for it, he made it happen. There's no such supernatural magical power which came and made it happen.
Yes, it may be correct that the external powers are responsible for any event happening in our lives but it is true because we all are working over it to get it done.
We all are living under some structures, some land. We are living under some rules which is no doubt created by ourselves and it's true that human race have created all this since centuries ago.
This advice is even more common to listen when a person is suffering from pain, grief, loneliness. But we should understand that many times bad things happen for no reason other than we are human beings having a human experience. Pain, heartache, grief, loss, disease, and death are inevitable parts of the human experience.
It's little bit harsh but I find it better to start working on ourselves rather than to curse your destiny and waiting for the opportunity which would never come.
4-God will find you the best partner, and love will happen automatically
Ohh please, at least stop believing in some nonsense like that..
If you spend your life WAITING for that special someone, you will live a very lonely depressed life. Love takes work, it is rarely automatic. True love is finding someone that you feel very comfortable with and feels very comfortable with you, that doesn't happen automatically. You cannot impose anything on God for any absurd cause. The almighty is watching us, they're making path for us to continue moving in the race of life.
Now let me talk at some practical level. If we talk about majority of countries, for example like India, China and many other developing countries, there are less number of females than males. The sex ratio in many countries are lower than normal, so it's quite obvious that the men have to put more efforts in order to find a suitable partner that fits them. Similarly the females in general have to decide well before commencement of their partner.
Stop thinking that you are going to bang a sexy lady by letting love to happen automatically. And similarly, a woman cannot get a tall man with a six figure salary, six pack abs, caring nature if you don't put efforts to let him reach you.
Overall I don’t think it’s necessarily a great idea (nor a possible one) to “force” true love, you shouldn’t necessarily idly sit by, and expect it to come to you.

5-Good things comes to those who waits
Good things come to those who wait, or a door will open for you somewhere. Every time I hear someone tell somebody something like this, I just think— What nonsense the person is talking about!!
Honestly speaking, but nobody is going to offer you the piece of choco lava cake for no reasons. You have to earn every single thing through your efforts. In this modern world, where everyone is ready to push themselves in order to achieve something, you can't wait for that dream to just let it happen to you.
Maybe good things have come to some who have just waited. Maybe doors have indeed just magically opened for some. I accept that these statements might be true for the people who said them, came up with them or coined them some time ago. Maybe this was their reality, maybe it is their children’s reality – but it is not mine, and it isn’t the reality for any accomplished and successful people I know.
To pursue your dreams, goals and aspirations; all you need to do is get up every single morning, invest in yourselves, give you some quality time. Then after such hard work with some smart skills you can position yourself in the right way to get the desirable rewards.
6-Always follow your heart
This advice has no complete meaning at all. Many people resemble this one with the passion but that's not right case, it is just a jargon created in our minds.
And the heart is specialised for its short term functions in a long run, so don't rely upon it for the consequences you want.
Okay let me explain it through an example.
Suppose the two boys one with the age of 14 years and other one being 21 years old were offered 5000₹ to use it within two days.
Then what would happen when both of them follow their hearts??
Simply, the younger one tends to spend all his money on toys, candies, and some childish stuff like that because he is not grown enough and he is little bit stupid emotionally.
Whereas in most case scenario the older one will use his money on buying a new clothes, may be new accessories, or may be he could invest it on himself through buying books like me, or anything else. In this case, the boy is grown up, he knows about the importance of money, his heart is mature enough to understand the actual need and also he's not that vulnerable to become a nerd like the 14 year old boy.
And please understand that passion is different from heart. Don't mix all this together.
Passion is something that burns deep inside your gut, propelling you forward despite whatever you’re feeling in the moment. Passion is oftentimes more committed than the heart. Whereas heart is fickle, complicated and impulsive. It doesn’t weigh the consequences.
Will you follow your heart or you will chase your passion??
It depends on you...
7-You're so young, you have lots of time in the world
This is totally false, majority of you guys have already known it earlier. Knowingly or unknowingly but deep inside we all know it very well that we have a very limited time to make our things get done. But still, many of our elder ones, especially in our society just keep on saying this piece of garbage advice. Everyone has 24 hours a day, it is a universal fact. We have to keep ourselves pushing beyond the limits within such hours daily in order to accomplish what we want.
There are much more reasons to debunk this advice, one of them is the golden age of youth.
It means, when we are young enough, let's say between 18 to 30, we have the highest amount of freedom to do the things we want. We can take as many risks and possible regrading career, a youth can survive in comparatively lower income. They have very little or no responsibilities towards their parents, but soon the person starts getting older with constant decrease in potential. Between 30 and 40, a person starts building his own family, earning more income in order to meet their daily needs. Consequently, the chances of taking risks also decreases very drastically.
So remember, whenever you're told some advice like this, simply ignore it and keep mind your own business because that's how you'll reach your destination.
8-You need money to make money
This one sounds incorrect in many sense in today's world of ever increasing opportunities but also it is the only advice in this article which is correct in some cases.
But just think about the majority of young aspirants in countries like India, where the majority of the population is not wealthy enough to support their offsprings with some initial investments. It is a real challenge for the aspiring entrepreneurs to make money Without the use of money, even a fool can make money with the use of money. It is an easy option to buy a real estate in New Delhi or in Bengaluru for those who have large sum of money to invest in and leave it there to get it's price quadrupled but....
majority of people cannot do it.
Thanks to the onset of internet revolution in India which genuinely helped thousands of young minds to grow up their innovation. Within the last 3 years, there's a massive boom in the number of entrepreneurs in our country because of Internet.
9-Everybody is equal in terms of nature
Extremely sorry to say this, but this is a very harsh reality. We are not created equal. In order to be equal in truth, humans would have to be identical, because you can’t very well assign a value to traits such as intelligence and creativity, which would allow them to be compared.
Even our history also had created an immense effect on us. Not everyone is raised equally, some are born in rich countries like Switzerland while some are raised in poor countries like Afghanistan.
Some of them have both of their parents with all the material luxury while some of them are brought up by their single mother, struggling to put food on the table. Some of them likes to play football, while many of them likes to read books. Not everyone has access to same resources, not everyone has the access to same education and healthcare.
Overall, the universe has designed the human species in such a way that no two individual can be similar in all traits.
Once you understand it deeply, you'll be much better off.
10-Always follow your teacher's, parent's and elder's advice.
It is right to follow their advice upto some extent but not always. But our elders always keep on saying that, always adhere to their decisions. Believe it or not but it is very weird when it comes to not questioning to their advice.
Our parents and our teachers always insist on saying that be obedient, respect your elders, it can be true but we must know that how much respect a person standing in front of us deserves. Right from the childhood, parents should teach their children each and everything, we should ask questions wherever necessary and learn from our mistakes. It really seems stupid to just blindly follow their sermons without knowing whether it is right or wrong. Never accept anything on the basis of experience and age, because it is not necessary that every decision of person is right just because they're older than you. Teacher should teach their students, that how they can develop themselves, how to adapt according to the ever changing world. It is a good option to learn from the other's experiences but remember; always learn from your success and others' success and also keep proper track of your failure.
